Hello! I was curious where you found the information on the 1-5 scale for the Rancho Pediatric Levels of Consciousness on the TBI study guide? Any time I try and research it, it gives me the scale 1-10 with 1 being most severe, which is opposite of the study guide. Thank you!

      Hi Adam!

My apologies for the slightly delayed response! My references for the pediatric version of the Rancho Pediatric Levels of Consciousness come from the Sixth Edition of Campbell’s Physical Therapy for Children. In this edition, the pediatric version can be found on page 598. From what I could find, they are still using this 5 point scale for pediatric patients. (I’m still waiting to hear from a few of my colleagues to triple check this though since the adult one was recently updated).

You make a great point about the adult scale being updated recently from an 8 point scale to a 10 point scale, and is now called the Rancho Los Amigos Revised Scale (RLAS-R). An updated study guide will be out soon reflecting this change!

      Jessica
