What is an example of error based learning vs. reinforcement based learning for a balance exercise? What would the Bertec force plate provide with the visual feedback?

Hi Katie! This thread from earlier this year might be helpful for you: https://rehabknowledge.com/forums/topic/error-based-learning-vs-reinforcement-learning/#post-489526

When using the Bertec forceplate for balance training, there is generally visual feedback regarding center of gravity. This YouTube video provides some examples (skip to around the 2:40 mark): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdnJlJhih9M

Let me know if you have any other questions!

great thank you! is the limits of stability on the Bertec a form of reinforcement learning or error based?

I consider it more error-based (especially what was shown in the YouTube video) where the patient is getting feedback on whether he hits the target for each trial.

There is some terminal feedback available (more reinforcement learning) at the end of a training session where the patient can see the percentage of targets hit, etc.
