You got this question correct. The best course of action is to provide reassurance to the patient’s wife and to meet privately with the PT to give them the opportunity to provide further family education.
As long as the PT is treating the patient appropriately, it would likely not be beneficial or efficient to change providers or to have a larger team meeting at this point.
