Hi Briel!

Thank you for your feedback on this question. You are correct that the intent of this question was to ask when it would be okay for a physical therapist to actively start working on range of motion with this patient. We will change the wording of this question to clarify the difference between preserving the range of motion with splints on day one and actively working to maintain and gain range of motion once the patient is safe to do so on day 5 and beyond.
